Re: HUGE SALE ON Crescent-170 Piece Mechanics' Tool Set

is this forum going to now become a weekly advertising flyer for Trident?

sorry, but even the 120 ratchets is an ok deal at best

my opinion is not to ruin it and keep it for what it was, "a HOT DEALS section"

companies/advertisers should be in another section, this is now SPAM to me

Hi. What is the country of origin of the set? Would it be possible to add COO to your website. A lot of people here take COO into consideration when purchasing tools.

It's gonna be impossible to please everyone here at GJ, I see NO problem with linking deals for the community, especially since you are graciously offering discounts Soley for the membership. I'm just spitballing, and in no way shape or form speak for the entire board.. But maybe just have one thread and when "special purchases" become available, just add it. Maybe this will curtail the members who feel you are trying to take over the "Hot deals" section. I would also recommend adding the coupon codes to your signature line, this way it makes it easier for the membership to find etc..

Good day.

Hi EdJack, SOME products (not all as of yet) have the COO in the "Technical Specs" field. As always, if you don't see it, let us know and we can find out. We are trying to upload the specs as quickly as possible...

Re: HUGE SALE ON Crescent-170 Piece Mechanics' Tool Set

Don't like it, don't read it. Buy somewhere else. Pretty simple.

I like what trident is doing here. And have paid memberships.

well not really, this is a hot deals thread.

this is nothing more than an advertisement. You can get a better deal on amazon $89 shipped, so a big yawn.

as far as trident goes and their "sales", great, but it should be in a separate forum or at least contained to 1 thread, this post and presuming more after it is opening the door to being inundated with "sales spam"

NOT WHAT THIS FORUM IS FOR

so um, ya, pretty simple, don't clutter up the forum with sales adverts, that way I won't have to "not read it" as I'm sure Trident want to get business, but don't want to incur ill-will as well

If Trident does not want to incur ill-will they will not fill orders for items that are back-ordered ninety days:

Good Afternoon:

I just wanted to email you and let you know one or more things on your order is back-ordered from the factory, with a lead time of up to 17 weeks. (Sept. 9)

We are truly sorry about this and want to help in any way to ensure our relationship stays in the best status possible.

Please do not hesitate to contact myself or Mike ([email protected]) with any questions or concerns.

Best Regards,

Mrs. Taylor Kannady
Operations Manager

I see nothing "Hot" about this.

Wow. Obviously it was hot because they ran out of supply.

They said they'd help in any way to ensure relations stay at the best status possible. What more do you expect?

It would be better if Hot Deals was a place where members with no financial interest in a deal share it with other members.
Many E-Cig forums have a vendors sub-forum and that might be the way to go.

If that's what it'd take for them to keep posting deals without all this BS, Id be all for it.

First off, they paid for the privilege. They didn't break any rule, though I can understand some of this, I do think it's blown out of proportion and a lot of it is just plain rude. So the deal wasn't that hot? So they ran out, as if GJ doesn't have many readers or something. Yes I can see how it can look like advertising, but maybe the intent wasn't that at all.

Second, the vendor sub forum is a great idea in general. Pay attention to upgrading.

Seriously, complaining that we several people caused a small business to have some popular items backordered, on the same forum where people are complaining how USA companies need our support is really pretty stupid to me.

I mean really.

I have nothing against Trident ( have never even dealt with them) but I don't agree with vendor ads in this sub forum... I have watched other forums crater because of this type of posting in what the members (mostly) feel is a members "Hot Deals" section.

Vendors, which pay the forum to advertise such as trident does, should have their own sub forums for their daily deals, with their own "Hot Deals" section for them to advertise in for truly hot deals they have to offer for a short time. This would help immensely in getting the best items at the best prices, which is what we all want.

However, if this doesnt happen, and this forum becomes buried in paid advertisements, it will be the end of the community effort for everyday members to help fellow members with Hot Deals...

I've seen other forums where vendors have their own sub forum and post sales/specials/etc in there.

The majority of large popular forums, that have paying companies as active members, have sub forums for each vendor. This works out well as it keeps each vendor's threads separate while still allowing the threads in general to be kept in one location. It benefits the members and the vendors by separating while consolidating.

I have never bought anything from Trident yet I can already see they are a great company. Just look at all the quick responses, quick free shipping and quality products at special pricing for "members only" they have offered. Yes they want sales but in this day and age your not going to find this kind of service often, especially at the doorstep of a place you enjoy. It's a shame that a backorder problem for one product has become the highlight of discussion on their customer service. They buy from a manufacturer and sell to you. If the manufacturer can't produce, go ***** at them.

Keep up the good work Mike and Taylor.

Could not have said it any better myself! I ordered the 120XPs from them. They were a pleasure to deal with and the shipping was quick!

I have placed two orders with them so far and have nothing but positive things to say. I would much rather support smaller/independent businesses that support us and offer superior customer service.

Everyone should first acknowledge that this issue is because a vendor has finally decided to take a very active role at garage journal and is trying to cater to the members. It appears to be a new problem and is a great problem for the forum to have. I agree that their posts are different and shouldn't be in this forum and the fix should be simple, a subforum in hotdeals where vendors such as Trident and others can post their deals.

Can we just fix this problem and have a sub-forum? While lively debate is great, I hate the animosity it has created.

For those that are unhappy about the backorder, just let us know and we will gladly cancel and refund your order.

I don't know what else to say.

Agreed. Let's not **** on a vendor that is trying to help us out.

Mike and Taylor - please don't be discouraged. I'm yet to buy anything from you but appreciate what you are doing. I'm looking forward to being a future customer on a deal I find through GJ.

Thanks,
Willy
