Have an eye on the drill press below -- it's listed at $250 -- but I cannot find anything about it. The nameplate reads 15-330 -- which is a part number for an 8-spindle production table.

Even tried the 1-spindle part number from this catalog (15-310) and it came up blank (http://vintagemachinery.org/pubs/1141/1701.pdf) -- but this machine looks much newer than that anyways.

Guy says the variable speed drive doesn't like to engage at high or low end but works fine in the middle -- I'm not sure on the mechanics of this machine -- but I'm guessing it needs a lube job. I imagine if it was totally toast -- it'd wouldn't work at any speed -- but I'm not familiar with their mechanics.

What's the brain-trust's opinion on such a machine of this era? It says "Made In Canada" if that is any help.

I'll add a few more photos tomorrow when I can pull 'em from my phone.

Thanks. I’m gonna pass on it -- I need a project like I need a nail in the head.

I did some research and it appears this is a unit designed by Clausing--which is great.

I like these variable speed units -- but I'm no stranger to VFD -- so it's probably better to just go that route.
