Evening,

Can anyone give me some reviews or opinions on this press? Can I use it for metal?

Thanks

Sid

Asian import (probably Taiwan). Minimum speed is 250rpm, which is probably OK for 1/2" drills in steel with lubrication. The built quality is probably fine for home use, but not as good as a US made Clausing, older 17" Rockwell Delta, etc for more heavy duty use. Check to see if spare parts are available.

Aesome. Thank you sir. Mainly looking for straight holes in 1/2" or less bar stock, sheetmetal and wood from time to time. All my bits are no larger than 1/2". I'll check on the spare parts also.

Thanks again for replying.

I bought one used a couple of years ago. Taiwan made, a nice press. Most parts seem to be available. I downloaded the manual for it. One thing you want to do is swap out the belts.

Manual is too big to upload here, but this is the parts list.

Honestly, at 250 rpm you should be able to handle 1/2" into plain mild steel bar stock very easily. With lube and care you should even be able to drill somewhat harder steels. Steel at around Rockwell C 30 or 140k psi should be doable at 1/2".
