I bought from what I understand a 17 in delta drill mounted on another table with a quadrill head that I am trying to restore. I have never tried to restore a drill press before and I am wondering if anyone can point me to parts manuals or any information I can read before I start. I got to use my businesses insurance so I got out of the auction with the drill press for $200 but it would be perfect for what I want to do with it if I can get it restored.

Thank you for the help, this is my first resteration and I want it to go right. I found out this drill press was used to make the relvoving doors for the world trade center. It would be a nice piece to my garage.

Made shortly after WW2, 1946.
I thought it would be a 1948 model as the sn is 48-129
There is a list if Delta serial numbers/dates on that site I linked to above. The serial numbers are not dates though to the untrained eye they do look like it. I made that mistake with my first Delta.
thanks for the info, I did not do any research on this purchase other then my wife saying she thought we should get it. I have somehow with her encouragement got into older tools. She is worse then me about wanting more tools and who am I to say no
We were trying to buy a mill but they all went higher then we wanted to pay. However one of the reasons I wanted a mill was so I could use reverse drill bits to remove broken bolts. I think this will work fine for that. And hey another tool I get to play with.
