I was fortunate to receive some nice old stuff last weekend from my father-in-law. This bandsaw is one of the gifts. I don't know much about it, other than it is a Delta, it needs some work, and I really like it. Here are some pictures. I plan to restore it when I get time.

Nice little saw. Great that you got it from your F.I.L. I think you'll be real pleased with it. Will be neat to see you clean it up and restore it.

Funny coincidence, I picked one of these little saws last week at a yard sale for $5. Just a tiny bit different, the logo says Delta Milwaukee. It's sure a nice little saw, and amazingly heavy for the size. Mine was on a homemade stand with a washing machine motor, so I immediately dismantled it, and gave the stand and motor to the thrift store. I'm going to devise a quick mount system to mount it on my workbench to use it, and take it off and shelve it when not in use. I just need it for occasional use to cut out gunstock blanks before duplicating them.

Hello and congratulations on your Delta bandsaw. It appears to be a 14" Model 890. You can find more information on it here: http://www.vintagemachinery.org/mfgindex/detail.aspx?id=1141

It is missing several pieces, including pulleys, a base and motor, and the pulley guard. However, it does have an extended blade guard post which indicates it may have had a riser block installed at one time. The light appears different than the normal one installed.

As mentioned, you could set it up on a plate with the motor behind it and use it on a bench top, or put it on a stand with the motor beneath it. Either way it is a nice saw for general purpose wood cutting use.

Plaza Machinery might have a base for it.

The fun is in the hunt!

It is missing a lot, here is a shot of mine, has been modified for metal, but you get the idea of what all is needed.

Thanks for all the posts guys. I appreciate the encouragement, leads, and pictures. I guess I'll start looking for parts, but it seems that the main thing missing is the lower pulley, and motor. I'm hoping there is not too much rust under that silver paint. I think my fil painted everything because of the salt air near the ocean. It might have helped some.

Great looking saw you have there. Check out the old wood working machines site for advice and parts too.

Nice cast frame and base!
That will be a really nice saw when you tune 'er up. Doesn't look like it needs too much either. A little elbow grease and a few parts.
Sweet!
