I have an older delta belt/ disc sander model SA446. Its kinda wonky. It would sand if I held the tension lever about halfway in between tighten and loosen. So, i decided to tear into it thinking the belt may need a minor adjustment. The set screw that holds the disc in place was missing, so it should just slide off fairly easy...wrong. I had to beat on it a little. I got the disc off, but not the part that slides on the shaft, so basically I ruined the disc.
How in the world do you get the darn thing off? I know this unit is older and considered "Obsolete". Can I order a replacement disc anywhere?
The belt appears to be in good condition, and everything else looks good. Why would the darn thing slip both disc and belt wont spin when the lever is all the way to the tighten side. I have adjusted the tracking on the belt and done everything else I can thing of.
Who has the answer?
