Have a 1750 rpm motor and need to turn 500 or less for a hole cutter. Need to remove the high speed pulley and install a slow speed pulley, DP-283-S. Cannot figure out how the pulley is being attached to the spindle. Also saw a couple of homemade speed reducers that use the floor column for a mount point. Does anyone mfg/sell reducers for the DP220 drill press? HELP!

Welcome. There is a bolt in the main casting, near the top, that locks the splined sleeve with the pulley and bearings into the main casting. I'm in the process of parting out a couple DP220 heads if you need any parts. As to the column mounted speed reducer, take a look at this thread http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=300630 Maybe someone there can make one, as they make them for the Craftsman drill presses.
Good luck, Jim
