Most of the used drill presses for sale around here fall into 3 categories, rusted out junk, no-name chinese imports, or expensive industrial models. I love my Delta 17-900, but want something smaller for my tiny garage. Found a 14-040 in the next town over. I know there are better machines available, but I couldn't pass it up for $75.

Next project is to build a stand for it.

Big brother 17-900 and little brother 14-040. Not a lot of parts interchange.
17-900 is 3/4 HP, 3 pulley, and 11/16" chuck
14-040 is 1/2 HP, 2 pulley, and 1/2" chuck.
I have the manual and parts list for both and plan to scan them to share.
