Delta Dye and SPGX

Ordered my materials a couple days ago. Putting down the olive color delta dye with SPGX clear top coat. The house is new construction and the garage floor was poured two months ago.

Water appears to soak in nicely, my question is, would a light etch with citric acid benefit me in any way? I don’t really want to mess with the harsher acids, especially if it is unnecessary.

I plan to upload some pictures when I am done.

The floor has to be porous. Etching is a good way to achieve this.

Scotty and ArmorPoxy (sorry, no name on your info) - Are the dyes and a clear coat as tough as your other products? Can you rate the "toughness" (chipping, chemical resistance, tire marks, etc.) of the product options that you sell? What do you both have in your own work spaces and why?

We will let Legacy comment on their products and systems. They are an excellent supplier with top notch product support.

As for our SPGX this is a topical coating which protects the floor unline penetrating sealers and such. SPGX being super highly chemical and solvent resistant is one of the most durable and resistant coatings that can be self-applied. To our knowledge we have never had a tire staining complaint. Any topical coating though can be damaged if hit hard enough with a sharp object, unfortunately there is no damage-proof coating made. Sealers and such since they penetrate are not prone to damage, but offer much less protection.

Our warehouse floors are a combo of polished concrete or 100% solids multi-layer epoxy systems.

Wilson, excellent questions.
DeltaDye is a colorant. It's job is to create color in the slab. The sealer protects this colorant. If not protected by this sealer, it would be harmed.

Armorpoxy has a good reputation and they can answer questions related to the sealer mentioned. We have our own as well.

Lastly, I have a Legacy Industrial's Metallic Epoxy Garage Kit in my own garage, wife has our SD Garage Kit w/ 2 clear-coats of Legacy Industrial's Xtreme-66 Polyaspartic, in hers. We both love them!!

Amorypoxy - Thanks, what coating did you apply over your own polished concrete? The Delta Dye is a similar process, yes?

Scotty - Thanks also, that Industrial's Metallic Epoxy Garage Kit is amazing. Is there a topcoat that is less shiny? Do you have any photos of the other Metallic Epoxy that aren't in the gallery?

All of your products are difficult to choose from but I think it would help to have better, more professional photos of every one of your product chooses. I understand that is a tall order and not easy to photograph, but being a photographer I think it would launch your site light years ahead.

To be frank, we are close to a completely new site. We have a pretty good collection of photos from customers and our own crew, so they will make it to the next site.

You can use our WB urethane in matte or apply our matte-gloss cherry wax. Over the metallic kit.

Ok, finally beginning this project tomorrow. Our house build turned into a nightmare, only 3 months behind schedule! Anyways, how long after acid etching should I wait to apply the Delta Dye and how long after applying the Dye should I wait to apply the SPGX. Weather is supposed to be around 80 degrees this weekend.

Agree with Legacy, min six hours, or overnight to allow to fully dry from the staining.

The SPGX has cured and I have small surface bubbles in a couple spots. How could I remove them and do a spot touch up?

Very light sanding of the bubble and re-apply. Most likely came from some residual moisture outgassing since there is nothing in the coating that can make it bubble.
