I am almost to the point where I need to get my floor coated. I wanted to do Metallic Epoxy but I can not justify the cost.

Has anyone ever used Delta Dye From Legacy Industrial?? Looks like it would be an easy DIY project.

The garage is 28x32 in-floor heat and about a year old, it will be used as storage and a hang out.

Anybody have any experience and or pictures for this product???

Thx,

Mike

Legacy is a competitor, but I am here to tell you if this is the direction he is sending you, it is the way to go. If I had family that needed a Dye system I'd send em to Legacy.

There are many people who have stained their garage floors and been happy with the results. However, it can be tough sometimes trying to get feedback about garage floor projects since most people who participate in this section of the forum do not come back after they complete their project.

We have done some trial samples of Delta Dye and really liked how they looked and how easy it was, particularly if you plan on using an MMA sealer. We have an article about it in the link below.

Thanks Scotty, that does look good.

What about the joints? What happens when the sealer is applied? Does it just flow into the joints and eventually level out?

Mike there isn't s a sealer on the planet that will fill voids like that.
You can fill ahead of the sealer or after.

Permanent fix is our Xtreme Set 100, flexible but not hard: Sika SL or equivalent (post sealing option).

I used four different colors of acid stain. After realizing how easy it is to work with I will never have grey concrete again. I have pics loaded on my profile page. I did use Ghostshield products after staining.

Agreed. Color is awesome. However, have to be careful with acid-stain. Half the palette turns dark in the sun and a few colors react poorly (blue turns green) with WB sealers.

We abandoned Acid Stain for these reasons. Too many issues.

So far so good. At the time I did this project there wasn’t a lot of information on Ghostshield products. Went with their guidelines. But I do agree with you about intermingling various products. Bad results definitely can happen.

I've used it. You can get a sample kit from the manufacturer and try it in a few places. I actually did an exterior "porch" with it in a brown color. For me - and this is just my experience (applying it outdoors) - it's a very different product from the acid-based stain that I've used before - it's not quite as dark (but again, probably depends on application).

I was just looking at their black / lead accents - we may use it for residential with polyurea (or other) sealer..

Is there a source of photos that are larger than an inch square?

I'd ready to throw down the money to do this, but I'm not excited about taking a gamble on the limited information available.

Things I've looked at: The Instagram feed, but not many of those photos actually say what colors were used. The website, but the color samples are tiny and there's no scale - how close was the camera? Lots of random photos of a floor - again with lots of missing information.

Is there clear, informative chart or place to see the colors? As a customer, I feel like there's not enough info to actually make a purchase. Since the dye goes on concrete, I'm not really excited to test a bunch of colors in what will be my living room or garage. Testing paint colors is simple; testing permanent dies is a whole different animal.

PNW, we hear you. Again, still a relatively new product.
Send me an email or give a ring, see if we can't get you some help.

Also... it is common for a customer to have a feel for what they want, select a sample kit with those colors and test in area that may have a work-bench or tool box over it once the project is complete.

Lastly, we have a WIDE range of colors (26). However the customer base sticks to Lead/Silver/AccentBlack & Amber, Red, Almond and Red Oak, mostly. :shocking:

Thanks for the reply - I'll give you a call.

It's a tough call to pick the colors, and this is going in my house. I may have some practice space in the shop or garage.

This post is from 2020 but I am still only seeing the 1" squares and circles on the Legacy site, so Scotty, are there larger size color samples you can point me to so we can better determine what we want. Most of the colors my wife and I are seeing are darker than we really want. I want to order the sample kit but really need bigger color chips and or customer pictures of single colors. We are considering Brown, Bronze, Sienna Leather and Red Oak. Anybody else used these Delta Dye colors and perhaps could share some pics.

My suggestion is to order a sample kit as the pics never do the product justice. See attached, in the order you listed.
