Hi All,

Well I am a new member as of today. I figured since I am always on this site every time I buy a new project, i might as well join the rest of you that have the addiction to old rusty metal.

So I have newly acquired a Homecraft 11-120. She is a solid unit, but she (like most the things I buy) needs a little TLC. So far I am figuring the base should be replaced or possibly refurbished, the adjustable height table is missing, the spindle is damaged, and the height adjustment nut assembly is nowhere to be found. I am finding some stuff on ebay for Delta presses that I would think might work, but I will take any advice you all may have on where to get parts and what might be exchangeable.

Thanks all.

Welcome to GJ.

You asked for advice, but just know on here, you will get advice whether you ask or not, so here goes. From your description, yours is just a parts machine. Don't contribute to the eBay insanity, paying ridiculous prices to fix up an inexpensive and relatively common light duty DP. Around here, they can be found complete and running for $50-75. Yours is worth repairing, just not worth spending much money to do it.

Because it has a small footprint, I use one in my basement shop and it does very well for the small projects I do down there in the winter.

BB,

Welcome to GJ. I was the same way for maybe 8 years....I just joined last month. I don't know why I waited so long myself !

I second Jacks advice. Unless it has some undeniable sentimental value, why spend a bunch of money to immediately refurbish it. If you want to keep it, then certainly keep a close watch out for cheap parts to make it a great machime. Delta parts I'm most certain are compatible.

I would park it, and look for a very reasonably priced DP that has zero to minimal issues. You'll be dollars ahead. If you went full steam into hunting down parts for this, you'd more than likely miss out on multiple chances to get a very nice unit for an easy refurbishment.

More than likely, by focusing on machine b, you will he parts for this one fall into your lap. It's just how it hies.

Research other brands as well. They are out tbere to be had.

Keep us posted on how it goes,

Shawn

I don't know what happened in my closing sentence.....tired eyes and hands !. If you locate a solid second candidate, invariably great (and cheap) parts will fall into your lap for the machine you just bought.
