Delta Midi Lathe belt

[T56 Impala]

My drive belt just gave up the ghost. Nothing left but a few threads. Anyone know where to get one? PN? Replacement better than the stock one? It did last 10 years so I guess stock wasn't bad. Now I just have to figure out how to put a new on on. I've never had this lathe apart before. Anything else I should do while its apart?

these folks are good. Right around the corner from my work.
I had them make a belt or my Rikon Mini Lathe and for my Delta.
Seems to me they were cheaper than anywhere else.

IIRC the belt you need is a 250J Polyvee with 3 ribs.

You may want to check your bearings as you have to remove the headstock to replace the belt.

If your Midi is the older model #46-250, then here are some scans of the parts breakdown that I printed out from Delta's site about 10yrs ago.

I think you're looking for #9 on the list, which would be part #1340949

If you have the newer model, then you might be able to download the diagram from Delta's website.

THANKS!!! I've been digging through my drawer of manuals for the last half our and can't locate mine. That DL will surely help.

There is a Woodcraft not too far from me and a Rockler as well. I'm going to see if they have one in stock. If not I'll check out the above links and let you know.

If you have a 46-250 go to amazon. Search for 1340949. I just purchaces 2 of the porter cable belts. Two of these with shipping were the same price for one shipped from anywhere else I could find. They fit perfect.
