Was looking at buying this drill press, but I can't find anything online about it. Anybody here familiar with this model?

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but it is obviously very light duty, very small, and nor will it be powerful enough to do any kind of legitimate work. Unless it's free, I'd pass. Even then I don't think I'd want it. Drill presses are so inexpensive, you can grab something good for $200 or less any day of the week on Craigslist. I wouldn't waste my time with this junk. I'd rather go to battle with a corded hand drill

What horsepower? It looks a lot like the Craftsman bench top drill press in my garage. Good for occasional drilling. Take care when raising & lowering the table, to avoid drill into it, as the adjustment has slop in it.

Here's some ideas about getting an aux, table with the "T" track for clamps:

www.rockler.com sells the "T" track is you want to make your own aux table, they also have several choices of clamps.

www.leevalley.com has a new T-Track clamp plate, that compatable Bessey clamps can mount on it.

Thanks for the advice. Asking price for this one is $75.
Waiting to hear back on HP.

What sort of HP should I be looking at, and what brands/makes?
I'm going to be drilling through steel, like 1/8"-3/8" material typically. I don't really have room for a full height model, it has to be a smaller benchtop model that I can store when not in use.

We had one. Used it about 3 times for light duty hole punching. Motor gets exceptionally hot and the machine is not well balanced and shudders/shakes when running.

In my experience with a shopmaster dp as pictured above and a shopmaster belt sander of the same era I'd say they're some of the worst tools I've used.

Runs hot, shudders, shakes ....well that pretty much settles it.

Thanks all who replied.
I have plenty of time before I need one, so still open to suggestions for my shopping list.

The search continues: what about a Power Maxx Industrial Line?
Seems to be a re-badged Rexon RDM-80A (1989)
1/2" chuck
115V/8A motor

more import knock-off junk?
