I am currently restoring a Delta Unisaw circa 1964. I have removed the original switch and replaced it with a magnetic switch. I would like to use this magnetic switch to act as a "Master Switch" in its current location. I would like to have a seperate switch (paddle type) mounted on the left side of the front rail to operate the Table saw connected to the magnetic switch so that I have the safety of both the magnetic switch if power is lost and the safety of the paddle switch on the left side of the saw.

My thoughts are to also connect an outlet controlled by the magnetic switch to control my vacuum.

This would allow me to leave my vacuum in the "on"position and turn it on via the magnetic switch. I would then use the paddle switch to turn on the saw.

Has anyone done this?

What kind of magnetic switch do you have? If you have a 3 phase switch (with 3 poles) you can easily use 2 poles to run your saw and the remaining pole to run the vacuum. You control the energizing coil with your remote paddle switch.

As noted earlier, pics would tell a 1000 words.
