Here's a link where they mention home insulation that is made of recycled denim jeans, and they claim :

3. The most eco-friendly insulation for the home is one made from old denim jeans. Not only is it sound-proof but it is 40 percent more effective that most insulation products sold,

Anybody hear of this stuff or know how well it works? Anybody know where to get it?

Ahh here we go. Did a search and came up with something. I don't know if this is the same stuff mentioned in the article but it looks like it is at least similar. :

Yep should be as safe as cellulose (shredded newspaper) its basically the same stuff with cotton fiber instead of paper fiber. Its not something you can get blown in, its expensive too. I was thinking about using it for our home/shop, but not having 16 inch on center rafters made it a no go. We have 14 on center and 25.... irritating.

I seen it on a episode of Holmes on Homes, where he fixed up a house un the US. It was the show that Ellen was on. Holmes was installing it.... and it didn't give you the usual skin irritation that you might get with pink insulation, and you don't have to wear a mask when installing.

The recycled blue jeans were also treated with chemicals, and I can't remember for sure, but it might have been fire resistant as well.
