Densifier and sealer before polishing?

I'm having a new shop built and had the floor poured last week. I'm planning on having the floor polished down the road but it's not going to happen for a year or so. Is it counter productive to use a densifier/penetrating sealer on it for protection until I have it polished? The builder hand trowel finished it.

A densifier would help protect it and it is a step in the polishing process. Look into what type of product you want to use during the polishing process and what that manufacturer recommends using prior to polishing.

This is my recommendation for a cream polish.
Run your 200 resins, joint fill, then your 400 resin, then densify, then your 800 resins, then you're 1500 resins, then apply your guard or sealer, then burnish up to 3000 and finish with horse/boar hair.

But to actually answer your question, applying a densifier beforehand would be just fine. I would not go applying sealers, that is just my opinion. Some may say it is fine
