Sorry for the total noob questions but what is a densifier and why would I want to use one?

I used it on my floor and it made it less dusty and a hard surface. The only drawback I found was it was more prone to "popping" when using a torch or welder and hot gobs of metal hitting it. I had a thin piece of stainless I threw under my projects.

The primary solution/treatment used by concrete-polishers to help make the surface harder. A harder surface polishes faster, using less tooling and labor.

Legacy is spot on. Densifiers are penetrating and don't visually change the surface texture or appearance since they are not topical like sealers or coatings. They make the surface harder by reacting with the minerals to allow for better grinding and polishing results and are normally only used with concrete polishing projects.
