I bought some dental picks at Princess Auto last year and threw them in my box. They were in the surplus section for 25 cents a piece. I finally got to use them today while cleaning out the inside of my spray gun. I have never used them before and always used a small screwdrivers for getting into small areas. Man what a difference using these compared to screwdrivers and tip cleaners and any other small items.

I bought 4 of these for a $1.00 and I highly recommend them to anyone.

Yeah, they are great. I picked up some from my dentist a few years back. I was waiting for my appointment and he was going over things with a new hygienist. She said a few bad things about the condition of the instruments and he told her to toss anything she didn't like. I jumped in and asked if I could have a few for detail work. I picked up about 30, various angles and tips for free. I have used the heck out of them.

One of the mold designers I worked with years ago whipped one out when we were working on something and he told me how indispensible they were. I eventually got some, and when you need one nothing else comes close. Especially for O-rings.

I'd recommend against getting cheapo ones. I've tried two kinds of cheap picks, and they've bent on me.

I have a set of Craftsman and they're pretty good, and definitely sharp - I've got a nice scar to prove it.

At work I have a REALLY nice set that I use for ultra precise work, although at almost $10 apiece I'd never buy such a set for home use.

I got the cheap ones $3.49 set from HF but didn't like the way they handle, I am not a dentist after all.. got the craftsman instead for $10.. longer also.

You can buy some dental picks from Wiha tools. They are expensive $24.38 but excellent quality. I bought one last night.
