depression leads to a clean garage...

We've been preparing the house for a pair of additions when they were suddenly lost. This has resulted in severe depression for all... And my coping mechanism is to redo the garage and clean.

Three panos should show the mess. I'm building up roller stands for the big tools. Radial arm saw, jet 6" jointer, craftsman 12" band saw just totally repaired for resawing (I need a new fence before I start in on the funeral urns for my twin boys).

A 20 to shop press, a scroll saw, and a delta thickness planer. There are misc smaller tools around and I've started bending 1/8 the iron to make j brackets to support them. There is shelving, 2 row, along each wall. It hold pretty much everything.

There is a sub panel with isolated distances and soon to be walls for protection.

Lighting is supplied by 4x 6 tube t8 fixtures, each consuming around 320 watts... It's bright.

So, as I clean out my junk drawer and not buckets... Any suggestions on how to organize the **** Homes I've got? I don't mind the work... I just need some brainless activity while I try to figure out why I lost my identical twin boys. Do your suggestion s are welcome.

I am sooooo sorry for your loss. I wish I could help you through this very hard time. May god bless your situation and help you cope with this horrible time. I wish I could offer something to ease the pain.

I'm sorry for your loss. You may never learn the "why" so don't get to hung up on looking for answers. At best you will learn how to cope with the loss and still function. The garage is an excellent place to keep the mind occupied. Just Becareful and not careless when operating equipment.

Thanks. It's life. I might hate it and I might really really stare at the world trying to make sense... But I can neither fix it nor repair it. So I mentor and hope someday someone I touch will make a difference.

Another saddened by your loss. While a organized stocked garage sounds good to all of us, you spending time to support your wife during this time is more important. Get some joint counseling and plan a couple of small getaways.

Kathi and I send our heartfelt condolences -- based upon a similar experience many years ago -- to you on your inconsolable loss. You are in our prayers.

Your approach to getting past this by garage work is healthy and commendable. From the pix, would seem this will not be finished in a day or two, at least not without a frontloader!

I have a lesser cleaning up ahead of me than yours, but it'll probably take me twice as long; Kathi says I put the "pro" in "procrastination." I tell her I am not lazy (which is not entirely true, of course), but must admit I can so distracted when organizing that I forget why I am there! Not a bad thing sometime, and, it would seem, especially helpful for you just now.

Best wishes from the top of Virginia.

I'm sorry for your loss.

If you have anything you don't need get rid of it
Maybe a mobile work bench with storage
Your extension cords are taking up a lot of space, replace with shelving.
Have you considered painting the finished walls?
Big tools on roller stands will aid in opening up the space
Your work bench is tough to see in the pics. Dust it off & open it for business

If you haven't seen Jack Olson's 12 Ga Garage be prepared to be inspired & take a look.

You have a lot of nice tools in a biggish garage.
Also I didn't see a stereo
