Hey, long time lurker, first time poster. This forum is a wealth of information.

Right now, I'm debating between the Weaver Wpro10 and the I10. the ceiling height is 14' so i could get the I10 with the two foot extension to work. I just don't want it to be overkill. The additional 6" height option of the WPro10 would be exactly enough to lift taller 2500 trucks, but the ability to lift taller things like a van is tempting with the Forward since I have the room.

The lift will definitely need to lift 2500 trucks, but a van is more of a possibility instead of a probability

just not sure if it would be worth the extra $800 to go with the Forward over the Weaver

Thanks

They are both ALI certified so that is a wash. I have a Forward I10 and all Jeeps so mine at best only at half capacity all the time. I'm 6'1 but so far I'm content to roll around on a stool under everything. I really love mine after 30+ years of working outside on the ground and in the elements.

Ever wish it were taller?

Nope but one of these days I will put the extensions on the arms just to see if I can hit the cut off overhead.

Since you have 14 ft ceiling go for the higher lift unless you are on a tight budget or a shorter person remember trucks have axles and suspension with longer travel and will hang to bottom well below the frame when on the lift.

I have the pro10 from Derek weaver. I lift my F250 and I’m 6’4”. I do have to duck my head when working, but it’s not a big issue. If you have any questions regarding build quality or install PM me.

I haven't looked up prices on your possibilities but I suspect that $800 isn't a huge % change. Unless you expect to move in <10 years, I think the extra $ over 10+ years will turn out to be worth it.

I'm leaning the I10, because it looks like I could simply fabricate a 6" extension bracket for the cutoff switch to raise it. Since it will be in the narrow setting, I should have 6" of cable and hose play.

It would be a bit sketchy, rather just not factory, but the top wouldn't have much load on it I wouldn't think. Just the cables running on it

I’ve had a WPro10 since 2020, and love it. My only complaint is that I’m 6’4” and have to duck and/or widen my stance enough to lose about 2” of my height. That’s mainly when I work on my son’s 1991 Z28. Trucks aren’t as bad, because the frame rails usually give you slightly more height. The lift is well built, and I’ve never had a single issue with it. It’s far and away the best purchase I’ve made for my shop. That said, I have no experience with the Forward, and I’m sure that it is excellent quality as well.
