Sketchup can be downloaded for free. It was originally designed by Google and than sold to another CAD company. I've used this program, as well as others, to do my work and I put my garage layout together today. There is an online 3D warehouse where you can search out models and plug them into your garage. Any input?

I downloaded it to design my garage. I fell in love with it. I watched some tutorials and puttered for a few weeks. I now have some good working designs.

What I really like is being able to test fit all of my stuff with exact precision. That way I know everything will fit. I also know exactly how much material I will need.

Your renders look great!

I keep meaning to learn to use it, have even bought the appropriately named (for my use) Dummies Guide. I wish they had an iPad version.

I can run it on my Surface Pro. However you really need a mouse and keyboard to use it properly. There are a lot of hot keys and modifiers that you can't live without.
