In a few weeks I hope to start working on a soffit display case. I never liked the way my contractor left the soffit area on the existing garage. I was under the impression it was coming off, but by the time I seen it, it was a little too late, without losing alot of labor. With all that said, now I'm glad they did it this way. It left me an access point that I use to get the wiring from one garage to the other. Also I had been kicking around the idea of soffit storage, and this will let me enclose this area and have soffit storage. I don't plan to go around the entire perimeter, just this one area. Here is what I'm thinking, the middle area will be a display area with adjustable shelves. The area to the left and right will be soffit storage areas. The front of the display case will have to clear plexiglass doors that slide over each other. I will probably use sliding doors on the side area as well. They would be able to slide into or over the display area. I probably will just be able to open one side at a time. There will also be lights inside the display case and can lights under it. This is what I want to do, but I'm open to ideas and suggestions. I need some help on the framing. On the other side of the wall that I will be building on is a gable truss. I should be able to add some braces in the attic to help support it. Let me know how you think I should build it.Thanks, Russ
