hey guys, killer site you have here! I am in the process of doing my garage... i run a custom motorcycle shop out of it so that is what it will all be set up for, i have a spray booth, powder coating oven, and small media blaster as well as all my other tools and bench and what not... anyways... I am broke... well not broke but funds are VERY tight... i need to get it done to start working on bikes... i am saving for a wedding so i am not sinking a ton of money into my build (that goes into the bikes)
I need to do someting with my floors.. my garage is 1.5 car 10 X 16 so 160 sq ft.
I found some floor etching at Lowes for 8 bucks and they sell epoxy floor paint by the gallon for 20 bucks... i was just going to go with this... how many gallons will i need? or if you can recomend something else please let me know... i am trying to do this for under 50 bucks... I have a custom bobber build going on and a chopper so i need to get this garage done so i can finish my builds and start the next for winter... thanks guys!!!

the floors are pretty rough... here are some pics... ya ya ya dont hate on the wall color, it was free i mixed all my old paints together and got this green color... ooh well

some lame pics so far:

Frankly, I would just wait until you have the money to use a good epoxy.
Anything you do cheap is just going to cause you much more work when the cheap stuff is worn out which wont take long.

You should be able to get some good 2-part epoxy for that 160 sqft and supplies for $200 give or take.

There is no quick fix cheap way out with epoxy systems. The only cheap way to go is maybe buying some interlocking floor tile. Go to Costco, Lowes, HD or even on eBay.

With epoxy, you'll get what you pay for.

I agree with the others.

I used some Behr floor epoxy that my wife bought from Lowe's. I followed the directions to a tee, waited 3x longer than recommended for the cure, and the weather was perfect.

...it peeled immediately under the weight of a tire.

So, yeah, don't skimp on the epoxy.
