Desperately seeking Snap on Tool

Does anyone have a S9723 for sale or trade? It is the tool for taking off that pesky Spark plug behind the steering column...

not enough room on the s series trucks to get in there with the universal. you need to be offset.

The #3 spark plug is just in a B!@#$ of a place. I can see a DIYer getting really pissed off. There is absolutely no way to get a normal spark plug socket on it, unless you remove the steering column or the engine!

You have to go through the wheel well to get to these spark plugs (easiest way).. Luckily you don't have to remove the tire to do it....(at least on the Blazer I was doing).. I was at my FIL's house and had to make do with what he had... Alas, he had no tools that I could remove the #3 spark plug with. I just replaced the Spark plug wire. Next time I visit him, I will have this tool ready. (A Perfect excuse to get a tool I don't have )


I suppose it could be done with a crow foot, but I want to get the real deal.

how about a spark plug socket with the hex on the back and then put a crowsfoot on that.

how about go to HF and get a cheap crowsfoot and weld it to a spark plug socket and make your own for $5

Beat me by just a few there Bob, I was gonna say saw a deep to length then weld a crow to the end for sure, would work great and would not cost but a few bucks tops.

I suppose I could make one on my own. But I will try here for a trade or good price within the next 48-72 hours....

Oh man, the cheap SOB in me always says look, I swam upstream and did this a different way than just forkin over the bucks, and it really was not that difficult to do!

Come on BWP, you have a welder don't you? Challenge!

If you search Ebay for an LT1 or LS1 spark plug socket, you will see what I had a machinist friend of mine, cut down and enlarge the opening of a spark plug, to use with a Gearwrench.

One more option, that could be used with a flare nut as well.

As far as using a socket that has been bored out... I highly doubt it would work... It is very, very tight in there.

i own exact tool from snap on... it is great as it saved me a lot of hell time and frustions! i used it few times...
