Several years ago I was meandering around a mall near Lake Elsinore CA, waiting for Mrs. Plombob, and I wandered into a store that was kind of a "Sharper Image" for tools. Some useful tools, lots of junk and a bargain bin. I found these three DeStaco clamps in the bargain bin. They were cheap, so I bought all of them.

I've used them for years and they are really good clamps. I decided to get some more. I guess these were one-of-a-kind, because I found no composite clamps online. Not a single picture either. There's tons of DeStaco clamps, but all are metal.

Anyone ever seen these before? I wonder why none can be found, even beat up ones on ebay?

I have some in the garage, not terribly impressive, they bow under pressure, but have huge soft pads. 2 longer, 2 shorter. Hard right side Of pic.

So I don't have the only ones on the planet! Yes, they do flex a bit, but I like them for the work I do.

You've got the biggest collection of hand saws I've ever seen! You must have 50 or more! What kind of woodworking do you use them for?

That is my rehab pile. Those were all too good to leave behind for a saw painter or plasma cutter to get ahold of. I have a Burr retoother and Foley sharpener I am getting to working condition. The pile has grown a bit since then too, that's almost 10 years old.

My personal woodworking is usually Shaker or Mission style stuff, but I have not been actively pursuing it lately.
