So today I received a free Infinitum Desulfacater in the mail all the way from Taiwan.
For many years I have read, watched, and heard of friends, and those I know on the Internet using said devices.
The end goal for many is to extend the useful life of their investments in batteries. Those involved in Off Grid Solar can appreciate the amount of investment in quality batteries.
Unless you spend thousands on Rolls Saurette batteries which can give you more than 10 years of guaranteed battery life usage. One needs to ensure battery maintenance and proper DOD (depth of discharge) is followed and adhered to.
More on the DOD factor and other related matters.
1. My goal is to test if this device works.
2. See if it can restore a battery that is clearly beyond saving.
3. How it can assist me in the long term use of my investment.
Below is the initial link to the video I just made about the item. I will report back in the next 2-4 weeks and let everyone know if its a success or a complete failure.
I have aprox 26 APC UPS GBC batteries which are in many states of discharge. I obtained them from work for free and simply were throw aways as we have a strict use life.
Regardless of the voltage and the load test we conduct, pass, fail, if they meet a set *in place* usage they are pulled out.
Lucky for me it means I can be green and recycle and also divert these batteries to another life. So, for those interested in this thread please do supply some feed back and your personal experience, or expectations of the outcome.
Please bare in mind some of the batteries are at 9.7 volts, and they are 12 volt batteries. I truly don't believe a 12 volt battery at the SOC (state of charge) can be recovered from 9.70 DCV.
