Hey guys,

Been lurking here for a while. I've owned my current home for about six years now. It came with a decent 24x24 detached. Many hours have been spent thinking about the things I don't like. The floor is rough in some spots. The ceiling height is low. It isn't as big as I would like it to be.

Moving may be in the cards at some point, but for now, I think it's time to get to work and make this one as good as it can be. My goal is to make this as good as it can be with minimal investment.

There she is. Older picture, the TrailBlazer SS has been sold.

Inside shot at night. I've already demolished and removed the built in makeshift shelving as well as the small "storage room" that was just taking up space.

The garage can now fit three cars when packed tight, while still allowing room for my motorcycles behind them. Pain to get them out in this configuration...

So, to summarize... I want this to be functional. I work on my stuff when it's maintenance or modification time. I don't want to do anything that will permanently limit floor space (built in benches, etc), as I will probably store the GF's CTS-V for winter along with my toys.

I hope I can make this garage something I will enjoy and something that may help inspire some of those trying to make it work with what they've got.

I can't quite see it, but how do you close the opening wide enough for 3 cars? Did you install a 22-24ft garage door? Or is the wall panel removable....or is it just car chess and the door is the same the whole time? Sorry for being confused! Looks like a wonderful set of cars :)

Thanks for sharing and let us keep us updated on the progress. What are you planning on tackling first?

Probably attacking the walls first. I'll take a few close up pictures so you guys can see the starting point here.

Wow impressive stable

Thank you! That picture was taken just before I made a little change.

I got rid of the TrailBlazer SS and the C5 Vette, replaced them with a C6 Grand Sport.

Soon after, I picked up a used Yamaha R6 to try out motorcycling. Fell in love...replaced the R6 with a Harley-Davidson Softail Slim. Later found a private owner selling a 2003 VROD and picked that up as well.

So, the garage is home to all of these things. Very fortunate for the cool toys that I have. Space for them is the #1 goal for the garage.

It's just a bad game of car chess!

As it is now, I have the Camaro + a Corvette + two motorcycles behind them as the primary garage dwellers. Our daily drivers get parked outside. The "three cars wide" configuration will basically only be for winter - when my cars won't come out and the GF's CTS-V goes down for the season.
