Detached Final Inspect

About to finish a 24 x 48, but was curious how detailed the final is. I do have separate electrical, and that is bought off. There will be no plumbing. I am about to insulate and drywall. Do they both need to be inspected prior to final, or can I just get those done and do the final?

It all depends on your inspector and your agency of authority. Asking a generic inspection question like this is like asking a question about the weather. It is not the same everywhere.

The only reason to inspect insulation is where a heating living space is involved. Insulation in a shop is optional. Do what you like. AFA drywall, there is a nailing and screw schedule but you can see the nails/screws up until painting and you can still locate them with a magnet. I say giddy-up.

Around here final is framing and can include electrial, meaning nothing on the inside other than electrical. They want to see the skeleton. You need to talk to your permit department before you do anything. Nothing more fun than ripping out your new drywall and insulation.
