I was going to say "your floor looks like dirt" (not in a bad way). Now with the artificial turf, it's making more sense.

Batting cage up- finally! It was a tough push to finish in the heat (112 degrees).
Now the fun begins. May need to think about cooling th garage!!

Wow, what a project! So tall!

Floor looks awesome. Almost seems you needn't have spent all the effort for the side under the turf, tho?

"may need to think about cooling" ? may ?!? insulation or not, seems with your climate, the building would be uninhabitable for 1/2 the year, lol.

Looking forward to phase 2.

Port a cool evaporative cooler is working well to keep the temperature down. I am still contemplating A/C for part of the garage, but will wait until I am done with construction of mezzanine and bathroom/office in garage. Swamp cooler will have to do for now, and really makes a big difference.

I thought about not spending the effort and money on the floor under the turf, but knew that eventually in 10 years or less that the cage would be down and I would be using the space for other interests. It was easier to prep and install all at one time now, compared to later.

Thanks! I was looking for a rust color similar to what our soil can look like out here, but really wanted the gloss as well. It turned out to be a very cool color.
