I went down the detailing rabbit hole recently. Visited the Griot’s Garage flagship store and picked up a G8 and G9 buffer. They were low on stock on a lot of stuff. Sounds like I’m not the only one getting to detailing my cars. Needless to say I have a bunch more coming from their website.

I knew I’d want it all organized and easy to move around. I did some searching around and didn’t see much that I liked for a detailing cart. I bought the cart from amazon. Little drawing and some laser work..

Made the test part out of mdf. I’ll use it for a while and see if I need to change anything. Then I’ll make it out of composite. Will keep things from moving around.

What are you using for a detailing cart?

Very nice! I do mobile detailing on the side. I do not have a cart but recently added a shelf to store my supplies and microfiber rags, pads ect. This is a tiny section, I used a lot of my stock. I use Meguiars, Turtle Wax and Chemical Guys products if you need any recommendations just PM me.

And, I followed you on Instagram.

I need a detailing/tool cart as well IKEA has one fairly small is what I need but it is not in the local store and won’t be a available until Middle of August for delivery. Just got a G8 to go with my Rupes polisher. I know what you mean about going down a rabbit hole!!

I picked up a cheap folding cart from menards a few years ago. I keep all my products on a shelf and then transfer to this when I am doing a bigger job. When done it folds up nicely (I’ll get another pic)

It is a combination of a bucket in the corner with a couple gallons of soapy water I didn't use last time with a scrubby stitck sitting on top and a pressure washer somewhere near by.

Hi Ryan that is a great cart, but I do like your fold up one also. What do you guys do with your products in the winter though? Is your garage heated? I know the chemicals will change with extreme heat and cold.

I bring some of the specialty products inside but leave some in the garage that I use regularly.

Here is my cart folded up and my current storage

Was expecting to see way more pimped out detailing carts on here. For once Garage Journal disappoints.

Here’s my contribution.

Purchased to make it easier to wheel my AR610 around. Need to figure out a more elegant solution for the hose and power cord.

Received my Griot’s order. I’ll have to rework my cart organization. For now it holds the stuff but isn’t a practical and useful as I want. Mostly I wanted the stuff to not move all over the place when I move it around the shop.

Here's mine:

IMG_1903.jpg

I was about to buy a three-shelf cart at HF when I remembered I had a few 24X18 square aluminum trays and some matching angle, so I built one myself.
The top section has a number of small plastic pipe pieces for small brushes, as well as some heavy mailing tube sections for bottles, held to the walls with binder clips.
Center section has odd pads, applicators, gloves, etc.
Lower section, all categorized microfiber towels, is walled with plexi on three sides with a plastic curtain in front.
