I acquired this Devilbiss compressor, it is just a little guy. Horizontal ~20 gallon, 1/2 hp motor, and tiny cylinder. It doesn't have a regulator on it or a switch, just turns on when I plug it in, goes up to 80 psi and maintains it. Takes about 7 minutes to get up to it. It is only 120v. I put the gauge on it, only goes up to 100psi, the gauge that came with it was beat and unreadable. So, is there a way to regulate this compressor or am i stuck with just 80psi? I will probably end up selling it because I need to pick up a 60-80 gallon 2-stage unit for die grinder and other activities. If you have a nice compressor for sale in the Northern VA area let me know.

A switch or regulator are not necessary. You have a pressure switch which will shut the motor when the pressure is satisfied. It is adjustable and I would not set it higher than 125 PSI. You only need a regulator if you plan on painting. Then you want to set the regulator at about 30 PSI.

That is my question, how do I regulate it? I realize the input of the air is where the switch is, but how is that adjusted?

I have a separate regulator and filter setup for it for adjust the pressure before the air line.
