I just bought a used Devilbiss Pro 4000 6.5hp 60 gallon compressor. It was lightly used for 2 years. It has been in storage since 1998. I got it for $300. I will be doing some priming and painting on my car with this. Any opinions on my purchase. I would like to possibly use some air tools as well.
Thank you.

I have a 2 stage proairII 6.5 hp and it has been going strong for about 13 or so years great unit bought like new for about $650 13 yrs. ago. I have an auto drain to save the tank, and it goes off with the lights in the garage along with the blow down. Thants a great price. We bought my boy a 5 hp 2 stage for $175 but sure of the life span looks like it had a lot of use and we found the key in the keyway started to work its way out and was hitting the cage and sounded like a rod was out. Your low use seems like a better deal. good luck.

Oh well, my Craftsman is very loud but you can't really hear it in my house and when my wife hears it I tell her it's a truck outside.

Well its finally in my garage. I ran a 220 line to it today and tried it for the first time. Its a bit loud but not much louder than the Craftsman 120V compressor. I have posted a picture of what I have here, I guess it needs a regulator to start with and an air dryer. There is a drain plug at the bottom which looks almost impossible to get to, not something I will be opening every day. Any recommendations on what I should get for this thing to make it operate best would be appreciated. I have a guy on a car website I go to who is selling two different dryers but not sure if they are any good or worth the price.
Thank you.

This is an older post so I am guess you have been using the compressor for awhile. Was it worth the purchase? I have one a lady will sell for $200 but for some reason I remain skeptical. Plan to use for sandblasting.
