dewalt 12v max 1/4 hex screwdriver/impact driver

Well for my accomplishment of quitting smoking cigarettes I decieded I needed to treat myself to some thing nice.

So.....I ordered a dewalt dck210s2 combo kit fromy tool distributor the stoped by the shop. Really really wanted the new m12 fuel impact driver, but he cant get a decent price on it($180), so he showed me the dewalt. Another tech at my shop has the 3/8 square impact and it's a nice tool, so I figured 2 tools for $20-30 more than the Milwaukee was a good price.

Anyone else use the dewalt?

I've got the drill, impact, and screwdriver, really like them, very light, very powerful.

Not bad... although with the 2 torque levels, the Fuel impact basically IS a screwdriver too.

Yes, I know, ill pry get em then regret not going with the fuel, but I may love em, we shall see. I also got a $25 mail in rebate also.

How's battery life like on these? Any power issues you've run into? These will be used in an automotive shop so im not concerned about how many screws I can run in to drywall lol

You can find BNIB milwaukee m12 on cpo websites for under $180 w/ 1.4Ah at much more compact than Dewalt. The dewalt battery is 1.1Ah. However the M12 battery that looks like the dewalt is actually 3.0Ah; Milwaukee is just a better value overall.

There's a lot more support/accessory for M12 than dewalt.

I love my Dewalt 12V. I have the impact, drill, and LED light. All well worth the money and charges do last a long time. I work in maint. so I carry and use these things daily.

I have the drill, impact driver, impact wrench, light, and 8 batteries. I love them all and they're great for most of what I do. If I need more oomph, I bust put my 18v, corded, or air stuff. Enjoy!

I have 1/4" impact, 1/4" drill, the chuck drill, light, charger, 3 batteries, and just ordered the 3/8" impact. I like the size and power density of these. The battery life is fantastic.

If the 12v isn't big enough, then I do at times need to break out the 18v stuff (also Dewalt)

Love my 12v, 20v and 36v DeWalt Impacts. The 12v is good for ~90 lb/ft of Torque or so it is rated. They are so light and easy to use all day long I start with the small 12v and if that for some reason doesn't cut the mustard I swap up to the 20v and that usually does it for smaller stuff.

I have all of the DeWalt 12V MAX line except the latest $900 thermal gun and most of the Milwaukee M12 line and will say the Milwaukee weigh more and I typically grab my M12 stuff first because I have large hands which do not exactly fit the DeWalts. I cannot comment if the DeWalts are as durable as the Milwaukees which have received and take. A beating from me and my coworkers (they will grab them from my box if I am working with them on a repair/project). TheM12 line offers 10 times the tool options but most of which are not really geared towards auto techs, but since I'm in industrial maintenance the M12 would be my choice but an auto tech would be making a good choice with the DeWalts I their hands fit those yellow grips.

Well guys, I received the kit today. Didn't get to use them at all, other than charging both the batteries completely and squeezing the trigger on each a few times.

Power is definitely there but with out putting a bit to fastener and actually using it its hard to tell how much or how close the claimed output is.

Fit and feel is fantastic very lightweight and won't tire your arms out over repeated use. I really liked the 3 led lights on the ends by the couplers. Over all very satisfied for day 1.

Hopefully we aren't quite as busy tomorrow so can get a pic up, and use em a bit.

Anyone have a suggestion on impact socket adapters? Was thinking about the dewalt's impact ready adapters, if I can get as a set.

I have the12v max drill, screwdriver, 1/4" impact, and 3/8" square drive impact.. I use and abuse these things 6 days a week and have been doing so for about a year and a half. They are absolutely the best cordless tools I've ever used. I'm thinking about adding the inspection camera to the collection.
I also have the big 3 speed 18v li-ion drill and the big 1/2" impact like the one in the post above. They are great tools as well but way too heavy.

Well I picked up a set of socket adapters from Walmart. Black & decker, preety sure there not impact rated( not black oxide) but for the $5.00 for all 3, if I break em, oh well.

Hoping to get to finally use em tomorrow.

I have the 12 volt max drill, impact driver, and light. I picked up the drill and driver at different times on sale, the drill came with 3 batteries and the driver with 2. 5 of the batteries usually outlast me on any project I am working on. The impact driver is great for woodscrews, you won't strip heads like you would with a drill and bit. It is also pretty good for light automotive stuff with the socket adapter. I intended to go with Milwaukee, but liked the handle better and the fact that you can set the DeWalt on the battery and it will stand up. Another plus of the 12v, they are great for overhead work where a bigger drill gets heavy.
