Before you ask me a question, please read the entire description carefully. I probably answer your question if you read. Note I'm hyper-sensitive to this putting free things on CL and getting tons of stupid questions.

Free, you pay shipping.

It's a DC988 and I can't make out the serial number.

-this drill came to me in a pile of scrap metal from a contractor friend
-it was sitting in a trash can full of snow for an unknown length of time
-I have never used this drill nor do I have batteries to try to power it
-it's a safe bet it doesn't work or he wouldn't have thrown it away
-the keyless chuck is rusty and screwed up
-the trigger and fwd/rev switches move, that's about all I know
-if you're in need of a particular piece on this drill, assume it's broken and then you won't be disappointed
-did I mention I have never used this drill?

I hate Dewalt products and have no desire to look at this drill any further. Maybe you can use it for parts. It's either that or the landfill.

Reply here then pm me.

There was nothing wrong with the drill. Someone must have laid it down and forgot where they put it. I threw a battery in it, and it works fine. Good brushes, bushings, & chuck. All the speeds and hammer function work like they should. Plenty of power. I'm happy! thanks
