I still have 15 year old dewalt tools that I’m using daily
I did the purchase the lithium nano batteries and proper charger
They still work like new. I do not abuse the tools
Also remember that 20 volt max is a selling point not true that they are better or more powerful than 18 volt lithium ion power tools
The 20 volt max is the voltage of the battery pack as soon as you take it off charger. Once you pull the trigger on the tool the voltage drops to 18 volts.

My original first gen DC9180 nano batteries (Japanese cells) are from 2010 and still work.
