Just got this in and figured I'd do a quick review. Will add stuff to it as I use it more. Well here's the complete set

The ratchets are pretty heavy compared to the armstrongs I've been using but they feel fairly smooth. As far as pure socket sets go you're not going to find a much more complete set. All 6 point sockets.

1/4 drive 5/32-9/16 and 4-14 mm. Deep and shallow with deep not having the 5/32 and 9/16. 3,6, and 10 inch extensions. 1 u joint. And one 1/4 to 3/8 adapter.

3/8 drive 1/4-7/8 and 10-21mm excluding 20mm. Deep and shallow in all sizes. 3,6,and 10 inch extensions. 1 u joint. 1 3/8 to 1/4 adapter. 3 spark plug sockets 5/8,3/4,and 13/16. 9 hex bit sockets 5/32,3/16,1/4,5/16 and 4-8 mm. 8 torx bits t10,t15,t20,t25,t27,t30,t40,t45.

1/2 drive 7/16-1 and 13-24mm excluding 20 and 23mm. Deep and shallow in all sizes. 2.5,5,and 10 inch extensions. 1 u joint. 1 1/2 to 3/8 adapter.

The wrenches are about the only place this set might fall a little short but at over 40lbs I don't think I would want it any heavier as a travel set. Wrench sizes are 11/32,3/8,7/16,1/2,9/16, and 5/8. 10-16mm excluding 12mm.

There are also 28 hex keys ranging in size from 3/64 to 5/16 and 1.5mm to 7mm.

The case holds everything in place really well. After a 300 mile treck to my house thru the ups system only 3-4 sockets had fallen out of their place.

Here's a few pics of individual pieces of the set.

Great review! I'm really liking how complete this set is. And the finish looks fantastic. Is there a part number besides the 204pc kit?

I never got to see the kit but on the other hand I did get to pick up and inspect the ratchets from that kit at sears. Let me tell you those ratchets must weigh a fricken ton!!!

If a home invader got into your house all you would need to do is cold **** them with those black jacks (ratchets) and you would have killed them on the spot.:wtf:

The kit looks very nice:thumbup:

Checked out the Dewalt mechanics set at Sears last month, the sockets had a good finish and the ratchets had a smooth mechanism (high tooth count) but the heft was a concern.

I've had the 204 piece set for about 8 months and really like it. The case is nice, but with my weak fingers it's difficult to remove small sockets without using a small screw driver to pry them out.

Also no room in the case for other essential tools such as screw drivers, pliers, 12 mm wrench, etc.. Other than that it's a great set.

When I was getting started, I picked up this Craftsman set:

http://www.sears.com/craftsman-309-...p-00941309000P?prdNo=6&blockNo=6&blockType=G6

And honestly, the quality on that Dewalt set looks much better. I did some searching around the web and people seem to review it highly. I imagine it's all made in Taiwan, but there is nothing wrong with that if the quality is good.

Good job

I'm sure this set is pretty damn good too. Those rats are the same style used back in the 70's:beer:
