The Milwaukee guys buy eBay batteries all the time.. no issues posted.. I’ve bought a few myself but paid a little more over the lowest listings to get them in sealed peghook clamshells. There’s a guy on here that sells them on eBay, and all he’ll say is they are real and aren’t from kits. My GUESS - is that the companies receive bulk shipments from their overseas suppliers, (where the batteries are made) and Milwaukee/dewalt are constantly dumping older stock for what they paid or less. Making room in the warehouse, making sure batteries dont accidentally sit on shelf beyond a certain time period before they are sent off to retailers since a warranty is given based on time and manufacturing dates..
Figure they always have to order more than what they will actually use.. this would cover them from ever running out, or having to wait longer if the next shipment gets delayed.. it would be an acceptable “lost profit” to dump large quantities just as insurance they never run out, and always have a new supply coming.. just my theory.. they make how many different sizes of batteries these days - how many can they actually hold onto and just store before the building starts bursting at the seems.
