Stickshift tipped me off about a deal I thought deserved a separate post.

(Online Deal details via ToolGuyd)

Dewalt 20V hammer drill + impact driver for $174. These are also sold in stores, but at full price.

You can buy online for $174 & free-shipping (details via link above), or use this to try to price-match in store.

Attached is a screen-grab. These will most likely sell quickly, so if you can't get in on the online deal, try to get the store to honor it. (Because it says online only, YMMV.)

(Theory: reg. price is $299. Promo is for "save $70" to give a $229 price, same as a recent Amazon deal. It looks like someone goofed and set the system to see the price as $249 at checkout, from which another $70 is being discounted. Total discount is $120 or so, from $300, or about 40%)

I take it you think there's a chance they will reneg on those who ordered?
Maybe, maybe not. It all depends on whether it is a mistake, and if so whether someone catches it and cares. Even then, they might honor the price to keep customers happy.

It also depends on whether there's a cap as to many can be ordered. If they sell say, 100 they have in stock, it's less of a situation than if they sell 100 + 500 units they have to backorder.

Looks like it's still live.

Note about the 20V impact - it's shorter and only a little fatter and heavier than the 12V model. I have a sample and sometimes find myself accidentally trying to mate it with a 12V battery.

I ordered it thru the link and it seems to have gone thru, weird tho if you type in the model number on the website, it comes up with the same kit with the free 3rd battery but in cart price is 299.99. I also have the home depot app on my Iphone and it shows up there was online exclusive and out of stock online

There are tool junkies, and then there's Stuey. I am so far gone that it's not enough for me to whip out my credit card when I find a hot deal. At the level I'm at, I must feed off of other's impulse buying.

I think that HD made it intentionally difficult to find this page.

If you search according to the product number, yes, you get taken to a special combo that includes a spare battery.

If you search according to the internet catalog number, 202922441, which is different than the $299 one, you'd see that the page has been taken down.

I don't know what's going on, only that this is a killer deal that's really hard to duplicate if you don't have the right link.

For some reason I keep feeling that this is a loophole of some kind. But the intricacies don't matter as long as everyone gets their tools.

This, along with your observations about the pricing, makes it seem that this was an error on HD's part.

Anyway, it's been pulled now. Let's see if it ships or if we all get cancellation emails.

Yup, looks to be dead for now. Might be worth checking back in a few days. HD has reanimated dead deals a few times in the past few weeks.

While it's not quite as good a deal in that it's not a hammer drill and is $25 more, the Milwaukee 18V kit (same as Dewalt 20V) at Amazon for $199 shipped is pretty decent. Trying to prepare myself to plunk down for that kit once I receive the (fully anticipated) cancellation notice on the Dewalt order.

I seen that sell from Home Depot over the weekend, but noticed for a few bucks more you can get just the Dewalt DCF885L2 with 2 high capacity lithium ion batteries

1. It's not 'a few bucks more', it's $65 more.
2. Your link is for an impact driver alone. The kit described in this thread is hammer drill-driver AND impact driver.

Sorry you misread my post... "...few bucks more you can get just the"

Even on sale, just ONE DeWalt 20V 3.0 lithium battery is going to cost $65 - the kit I mentioned includes two of them. For those that doesn't need another drill but looking to get an impact driver I would say having two larger, longer lasting batteries would be a better deal.

Further the Home Depot deal is gone now, further making the deal I mentioned better...

Yes, I misunderstood.

So impact driver + hammer drill-driver + 2 1.5 Ah batteries for $174 vs. impact driver + 2 3.0 Ah batteries for $240.

I suppose for those who don't need the drill and need longer runtime between charges, the latter package is more suitable, but at only 11% off list price, it hardly strikes me as a great deal. But if Stuey, who has covered pricing on these things extensively, thinks it's a great deal, I'll defer to his judgment call.

That does sweeten the pot a bit. But after seeing this combo deal, I imagine most would be underwhelmed by the impact only kit for $215.

I would certainly agree... that is if the sale was still active, however the first posted special is not available ;)
