About 10 years ago, I bought the DeWalt set for general use and they have been great. But now, both drill and driver seem to have an issue with the trigger switches. They work, but if I squeeze the trigger part way, it runs full speed, and if I squeeze it all the way, it goes slowly or stops. Do you think the switches have gotten dirty inside, and causing this? Has anyone else had this happen?
I don't think I have battery issues because if I squeeze the switch just right, they work.

Definitely could be a battery issue. I have a similar problem with a Dewalt 12v ratchet when the battery gets low.

It's not the battery for sure, but seems like the trigger or the wiring connected to it are loose. Someday I will take them apart and see.

The internal switch contacts are a very common issue with these. It likely just needs cleaned.
