anyone own the new Dewalt 20v li-max line?

my mac dealer showed up and showed me their brand new 20v 3.0 3/8 impact wrench. ($319.99) i was super tempted to buy one right off the table

and also the new brushless 1/4in impact driver 1.5 gun ran for 199.99

probably can buy them cheaper at homedepot or what not but i prefer to have a real good warranty. truck warranty easy to deal with

I own several of the tools, IMO they're the best currently on the market, I prefer them over all other brands/models, and I'm not particularly a DeWalt fan either.

The impact wrench is one of the few I haven't tested yet, and the brushless impact driver is quite nice.

Do you have any specific questions? Overall I definitely favor Dewalt's slimmer pistol grip handles over other brands'.

Are you sure it's the new impact that's $200? The cheapest I could find the kit online for is $265.

i think so or i could be mistaken by the 12v model which might make sense.

question- would you rather use a impact driver with adapters or get the 3/8 impact gun. the 3 speed impact driver seems to have about the same specs as the 3/8 impact gun. i like how there light weight

i was about to buy a 1/2 m18 impact gun but now thinking these new dewalts might be more practical for me.

I have the impact driver and I love it. I use it mostly to drive 3" screws. The biggest so far has been 1/4" x 4" lag bolts. I accidentally dropped it from ladder height a couple of times and that didn't cause any problems.
Spring for the bigger 3.0 amp hour batteries if you can. I have the 1.5ah, and they are lacking sometimes.

There is no 12V brushless impact, at least not to my knowledge.

If you're mainly driving sockets, I would get the 3/8" drive impact + bit holder for 1/4" bits. If you're mainly driving fasteners, 1/4" hex impact + square drive adapter for 3/8" sockets.

I have no reason to suspect a 1/4" hex chuck cannot handle sockets, but it just seems to me that the 3/8" drive chuck will be better designed to handle them. It probably won't cause any damage or potential damage, but it might allow you to squeeze out extra power when you need it.

I've got the 3/8" impact driver and the right angle drill. Both are fantastic.

I have the drill/driver set and while it has been great so far I would have been better off waiting for the complete Fuel line from Milwaukee just for the line up of tools in the M18 line vs 20V Max line.

I started out with a drill / driver kit and have added a circular saw, reciprocating saw, right angle drill and flashlight since then and they've been great! I resisted buying a larger kit which included the above 2 saws and I'm glad I did. The ones I bought individually have better features. The down side is that when you buy the individual tools you get another charger. I have been told by a distributor that DeWalt will be selling individual tools soon (battery and charger extra). I was also told that a radio / charger like the current 18V unit is coming out soon.

As mentioned, the grips are great ... for my hands anyway. As nice as the tools are, I really like the flashlight!

At work I use a Hitachi 18-Volt 1/4" Cordless Brushless Impact Driver. We are amazed at the power and even the breakaway ability of this. There are 4 bolts that hold the new front load washer drums in place while shipping. Sometimes they can be a pain even with a decent size ratchet. This little drill zips them out quick! We used to go through drills and impacts all the time because we are very hard on them. Anyway love the hitachi and i have always liked dewalt.

am a mechanic and right now ive been using m12 impact driver and its been doing me well with the small stuff, but i would really like something to handle larger bolts and higher torque.

the new brushless hex driver 3speed has some nice specs but not sure if thats enough power for me. but i do know dewalt is coming out with the 1/2 impact too later this year so that might work out for me.

so am still stuck

am trying to replace my M12 drill and driver over to the dewalt impact wrench but then got stopped in my tracks when i saw the 20v brushless impact driver which isnt that much bigger then the 12v max driver.

my goal was to replace a small driver with a small driver better battery life but now am thinking i should just jump up to the 20v little more power... or just buy both! dammm

I have the 20V drill, 1/4 drive impact and flashligh. Its not the brushless model, I like the grips alot and the batteries last a long time.

I have had many dewalt impacts and they never fail and i used mine for everything at my old job.

I had 1/4 - 3/8 socket adapters and I welded the sockets to the adapters. I also have the 18v 1/2 drive impact and it doesnt have any problems but it is huge and hard to use. I also hate the trigger design of it and its like most electric impacts.
