On the subject of the DeWalt 20v step down adapters I see on Amazon, how good are they and do they work okay?

Dewalt DCB609 20V/60V MAX FLEXVOLT 9 Ah Lithium-Ion Battery, has anyone used this in one of the adapters to step it down to 12v?

If so, how'd it do?

I'm kicking an idea around...

I purchased one for Makita. I assume it's the same China stuff. I think it's fused at 15A or so.
I have it setup as a "backup" power source for the 12V functions in my cargo trailer. No issues with it so far, but my use for it has been pretty light.

Have you compared the voltage input to the voltage output? I'm curious. The inverter I'm thinking about powering it with has a non-adjustable high/low voltage range.

This one is non-adjustable. It puts out 12.1v. Might need to "double up" these for an inverter depending on watts.

I haven't looked at the battery input voltage, I assume it's between 18v-21v based on the cells they use.

It's only a 300W pure sine wave inverter that's going to power a single 55W HF LED light in a horse run-in shed. I figured I might try it to see how long they batteries last. It'd be easier than setting a car battery out there and having to drag it to the shop to rechange. When it dies, "she" can swap it out pretty easy.

Why not just get a 12-24v led light? All those losses from the converter then inverter will add up and by two more things to fail

That's actually not a bad idea. I have everything but the 20v converter right now at zero cost so far, just the time I've spent repairing the Inverters. That was a real learning experience. I'd need one that ran on 20V though.

Search for 12-24v led... They run on the whole range of voltage. Tons of options out there
