Couple of weeks ago I posted if was worth upgrading from a brushed Dewalt DCF883 3/8" impacted to the brushless DCH890. I haven't pulled the trigger on that yet.

So this week I found a deal on a hammer drill impact driver set. I already have the brushless DCF887 driver so I was going to list it on craigslist or FBMP. Than the light bulb popped on. I took the annvil (608116-00SV) out of the 883. A 5 minute job. Taking the 887 driver anvil apart was little more complicated. All this can be done with tools most of us on hand, and the help of a Youtube video.
I now have a 3 speed brushless impact wrench. The torque ,RPM, and impact per second, are the same in 3rd gear as the DCF890. Have some more testing to do but seems to work great.

Tools needed.
T10 Torx driver
Small Flat blade
Pick of some sort.
