My old compressor just ate **** and I need to replace it. I need my new compressor to power die grinder, air ratchets and 1/2 impact wrenches. My old compressor power was a 35 gallon and had 5.5 cfms @ 90. I was looking at this dewalt compressor and even though its 4.5 gallon it has a 5.2 cfm rating @ 90. Will this compressor work for my needs?

Here's the link.

No, I don't believe that it will. 5.2 cfm isn't enough to continuously run the tools you use, your old compressor had enough storage in the tank to run for a reasonable time before the compressor needed to recharge, but even at that it likely couldn't outright keep up with your tools.

I use that same DeWalt in my woodshop and as a portable jobsite compressor on both woodworking and welding projects. It runs a lot when using a die grinder or the plama cutter but it will keep up with either of them. It does an outstanding job in the woodshop because none of the air tools that I use out there have a high cfm demand. For a shop compressor a larger tank would probably be a better choice. But the little DeWalt does a good job of living up to it's spec sheet.
