I don't have the sander in front of me but I believe it is a DeWalt DW421 2 Amp 5" Random Orbital Palm Sander. After almost eleven years I am moving my tools from a garage where they were mostly inaccessible to my new shop. When I originally stored my sander it was in good condition. When I went to move it today I noticed that due to probably mice, the hook and loop pad and the power cord are damaged beyond repair. From my quick research it became clear pretty quickly that you can easily spend almost as much on these parts as the sander is worth. I am checking eBay for used like models but does anyone know of a place that offers good prices on repair parts. I like to sander and I have a lot of sanding paper for it.

Re: Dewalt 5" orbital sander parts

I found the same model sander on eBay used. The parts I need appear to be good and with shipping I got it for $28.49, less than the cost of the pad and cord I need. Hopefully it will work out well. I may just use the one I bought until it dies then swap the parts.

I remember picking up a new pad at HD for mine a few years ago. I always have cords around to fudge something.you should consider the pad as an expendible; they don't last forever.

My Dad fixed mine up as well as 2 others, it also needed the o-ring drive belt as well. I have to see where he got the parts.
