Hi GJ Friends - I was gifted a Dewalt Powershop 250 RAS (7770 Lectrostop) with a beefy 2.25hp motor. I want to restore the saw to some working order or at least repurpose the motor if I can. However, it doesn't sound great when I fire it up and it stops quickly when I shut it off.
I am not familiar with the braking feature and I was wondering if the fast stop is a feature or a sign of shot bearings (along with the high-pitch running sound).
What's the thought here? Does the motor need to be repaired? Otherwise, the arm, motor mount, etc, work well.
Looking forward to the replies.
