Hello all. First post, looking for a little input on an air compressor.

A local store will be selling Dewalt D55168 next week for $199. It's a 1.6 HP, 15 gallon tank which runs at 200 psig. 5 scfm @ 90 psig output.

Should be enough for my needs....I've managed with a much smaller compressor but would like to be able to actually use impact wrench and rachet.

Any thoughts or input on this compressor?

Thanks.

Depending on how much impact use it will get, it should do fine for you. Just have to wait a bit for it to catch up, but if it's for occasional use it probably won't bother you...

No experience with or heard anything one way or the other

about the DeWalt compressor. Sounds awfully cheap ($$$)

for a namebrand. Is it an oilless ? If so, I would stay away

from it for garage work, seeing it looks more like a contractors'

pneumatic nailer air supplier. Meant for very low usage and

duty cycle. (I would be leery.) You might ask some questions

as to what uses it is meant for, and its' duty cycle, etc.

I have it. I can show you some pics later when I get home. You can run impact guns and air hammers no problem. I blow my sprinklers out with it. It's a great compressor. I even take it on the road for big jobs and run 2-3 nail guns off it. Sure it runs to catch up at times, but it is well worth the price.

I hardly use my 40 gallon since I got this a few years ago.

Thanks, looks like it will meet my needs. Not looking to run a business, fairly new to air tools so I think it will make a nice transition from my double stack Emglo.
