DeWalt Air Hose Reel - Ceiling mounted

Very happy with the results of this thing! $80 on sale at Home Depot. 50 Ft of rubber hose on an auto-retracting reel

Here is the install if anyone wants to do the same, this is the best way I could think of doing it and keeping it strong while just using scrap I had

I got 2 peices of 2x6 to attach to the joists, and then 2x4's across the back for the hose reel to mount to. I used #10 3 inch SPAX Screws

Then I put a piece of plywood over that, this was so I could get some extra depth for the lags I am using to mount the reel

Test fit with clamps

I found some 1/4 x 3 SPAX Lags, I added a washer so they never poked through the joist

2 x Lags and 2 x #10x2.5 SPAX Screws

All mounted, marked and ready for the reel

I am using these 1/4 x 2 inch SPAX Lags for the reel

Its not going anywhere

Added the inlet hose

And into the compressor with a Milton V fitting

Mainly my air blower thingy, airing up tires, stapler, 18 and 16 gauge nailers

Its just a pain having to get a reel out every single time.

I wouldn't mind getting a framing nailer next, and maybe some kind of cut off wheel.

If anyone has any good ideas, I'll listen to them. I just think air is neat

Depends on how much comp you got and what you wanna do. I like sanding and wire wheel. I use air cut off and rotary file too.

Looks good. How do you like the reel? I saw it on the BF deal, but did not think about it much. It shows $95 currently. $80 seems like a real bargain.

How do you like your compressor? It should support a small cut off wheel intermittently.

Reel is fantastic, but I just wish the hose wasn't made in China, when there are Goodyear hoses made in the USA for cheap

Either way, no complaints. No leaks, everything came out the box as it should, and it works perfectly

Compressor is great! Very quiet. I don't have a whole lot to compare it to as my only other compressor was a small pancake compressor, but I really like it

All the bad reviews say the manifold is plastic and thats the only sticking point, but mine is metal, so maybe they have upgraded it

No complaints, doesn't leak out of the box either

I had a rat in my garage last year and it checked through a bunch of stuff, one of them being my nice Good Year rubber air hoses.

I wound up buying a DeWalt replacement and I actually like it a lot. It's very flexible. I think it's a hybrid though. I use it for nailers and such, which is perfect for that. Don't remember the COO, but probably chinese. No complaints though.

I'm sure you can replace the hose on your with a GY. They put those on sale on NT regularly.

For sure, if it ever breaks I'll throw a Goodyear hose on there.

It does feel fine though, I'm sure the quality is just fine. I just hate having stuff we make here just fine shipped halfway across the world
