Thought you guys would be particularly interested in this.

11-drawer combo is $600.

36", 100-lb BB slides, 200 lbs for the extra-large bottom cabinet drawer, "auto return" drawer mechanism, knockouts in top lid for power cords.

The specs look decent, the price has me worried that Dewalt cheaped out somewhere.

I noticed last night that my Home Depot is carrying these now. They have them as separates but for the same price. Bottom is $349 and top is $249. Says they have one of each in stock. May have to make a trip to HD today and take a peek at them.

I heard that the 1/2" impact has taken notes from one of Mac's impacts so maybe they adapted their tool boxes as well.

You are correct. The Dewalt batteries will even work on the MAC line of battery powered stuff. My MAC guy pushes it all the time.

Dewalt is part of Stanley Black and Decker. So yea really all they did to the new MAC guns was put in a titanium anvil, bump up the torque, and seal the gun up a little better so you dont ruin it if you drop in oil

they cheaped out by leaving out half of the drawers....

I saw the Homers moving some of those on pallets around at HD last week, they were still boxed. I haven't seen them unboxed yet, but I'm kinda diggin' the bumblebee schema.

The price is great. Does that include the drawer liners? I wonder if the drawers are made from rigid, thick gauge steel, or if they're the thinner, flexible steel like in my craftsman boxes. Might have to take a look at HD soon.

Saw one up close at my local HD the other day:

Pros:
-Solid looking construction, bb slides
-Top and bottom (although separate) and top has nice fold open lid and bottom has 12" deep drawer for stuff

Cons:
-Should have bank of half drawers, not enough storage without them
-HF 44" is a way better setup imho
-12" drawer is nice but ALOT of wasted space. Could be used for more slim drawers

Overall its a nice box, but I think the fact it lacks drawers really makes it not for me at least.

That foot deep bottom drawer is a plus for me. Can hold my bulk boxesof testing equipment, master cartridge set, and so on. So im digging it more, and more.

FYI, I took a look at this yesterday, the bottom drawer does not extend fully. (Although, the shallower drawers do)

I was in HD yesterday to pick up some paint and plumbing suppliers. No sign of these boxes. Granted it is a smaller store, but I was hoping to at least see one in person. :dunno:

one long drawer, youd have to mix your flat and phillips in one drawer or youd waste space. 2 smaller drawers allows for more seperation. not really more space, just more convenience for the way i like to store things.

The drawers are not deep enough. I could not get my stuff in three of these.

They are perfect for the small DIY guy. They are also good for a small garage.

The other group I see them appealing to is the tradesman for inside their trailer or van.

Haven't seen these in store yet, but HD.com says they have one. Oh well.

Anyone else check these out? How are the drawers?

My depot has one on display. The drawers are of craftsman quality, and the color scheme is too in your face for me. The only thing I liked about the box was the top fold open area.

I saw one at HD. It had some sort of magnet thing that pulls the drawer shut. It didn't feel like detents. The box the box comes in(see what I did there) says made in China. So that explains the cheap price. It's actually kind of short too.

Our local HD finally had one the other day, I checked it out for a bit. I thought the drawers felt kinda flimsy. I like the fact that it's a bit wider than your standard box, but light duty for sure. Not much else to add that hasn't already been stated.

I just sold my HF 44. Hoping to get a macsimizer but will likely settle for a HF 72.

I am intrigued by this box and dewalt move into the mechanics realm. Just bought the 204 piece mechanics set. Will post up some pics tomorrow sometime.

Any other experiences or reviews on these Dewalt Tools chests at HD? I have some Craftsman Ball Bearing tool chests I purchased back about 10 years ago, They are pretty good quality as far as drawer slides and such, just wondering if the Dewalt would be an upgrade to what I have now.

I saw it in store over the summer - not overly impressed. Drawer choice is terrible unless you have a lot of boxed tools. Felt on par with a Craftsman/husky in steel thickness, slides, etc. Much better solutions out there - even the Kobalt SS has better construction and drawer layout.

On the top chest I would rather see the left side drawers longer and the right side shorter. Also, the right side bottom drawer is too deep IMO.
