Dewalt chop saw

Have any of you ever fitted an abrasive metal blade to a standard dewalt compound miter saw? I think the rpms are a little lower than the metal chop saw but just wondering if I can get away with it.

Yes, for thin material and limited usage

Warning, I have only done this on an older saw I didn’t care about.
This will make a mess of the saw and you may not want to use it for wood again

It really depends on material. Abrasive saws run at a higher RPM than that saw. There are non-ferrous blades available for that saw. Steel? I would not.
