How is Dewalt getting 200 psi? I don’t think they have a second or third stage? Is it inaccurate?

Anyone have experience?

Likely a small piston that takes forever to reach that pressure. I hands on experience myself. Frankly I’ve got a 60 gallon 5 horse compressor and need a bigger one so these small compressors rarely gather my attention.

If you read the fine print I think it's just the rating for the tank. No way I'd try to get 200 out of 1 stage.

Interesting, that’s what I assumed but my cousin claims his hits 200psi and I thought it wasn’t technically possible?

Yes the Dewalt "200 psi" air compressors actually DO fill to 200 psi.

And their 15 gallon '200 psi' compressors were 'upgraded' a few years ago to 225 psi.

How?

Probably a 'smaller' piston in the compressor pump wailing along at a relatively high rpm, powered by a decently sized (power/amp/whatever) electric motor.

Not a two-stage compressor pump on those units.
